Join us as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original Jem and the Holograms, the beloved animated series which transcended glamour, glitter, fashion, and fame, becoming a fantastic tale of female power.
When Cool Trash magazine reported that Jem and the Holograms creator Christy Marx was not involved in the 2015 live action reboot, the whole world wondered… did The Misfits finally get the best of Jem??? Well, not here at Cinefamily! Along with new female-led media project The Front, we’re bringing Christy Marx to LA for a truly outrageous show that will include classic Jem episodes, music videos, rarities from Marx’s personal archive, as well as the premiere of Off Hollywood–a news documentary series about the highs and lows of showbiz created by Jennifer Juniper Stratford and The Front. The first episode focuses on Christy Marx, tracing her history and diligence in the progression of female representation through comics and animation.
After the show join us for a party featuring some of our favorite bands doing covers of Jem, Misfits, and Stingers songs!!
